Meet the Fellow: Jacopo Cirrone
This entree is a part of our Meet the Fellow blog series, which introduces and highlights Faculty Fellows who have recently joined CDS.

Meet CDS Faculty Fellow Jacopo Cirrone. Prior to joining CDS, he was a researcher at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at NYU, from which he holds a PhD in computer science. His work primarily focuses on artificial intelligence and applied machine learning in computational biology, time series forecasting, and finance. In addition to machine learning, Jacopo is particularly passionate about software development and has 10 years of experience with Python, Java, and C#.
“I am working jointly with the Colton Center for Autoimmunity at the NYU Langone School of Medicine. At CDS and Colton, my current research lies at the intersection of Machine Learning and Healthcare. I am particularly thrilled to work on developing AI models that can predict disease risk and identify novel risk factors for Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), which is the most common type of Lupus. In addition, I am really interested in exploiting patterns within patient data to forecast whether a patient, affected by a given autoimmune disease, will respond or not to a specific drug,” says Jacopo.
