Introducing the CDS DeepMind Scholarship for Fall 2022

We are thrilled to once again partner with DeepMind on the DeepMind Scholarship for Fall 2022. The program offers a series of scholarships with the objective of providing more opportunity among underrepresented students in higher education AI programs.

“AI needs a diverse range of voices, perspectives, and talents, and these scholarships will empower students from underrepresented backgrounds to access master’s level study in AI,” says DeepMind’s Global Lead for University Relations and Educational Partnerships, Obum Ekeke.

DeepMind was our first industrial partner and has sponsored over twenty CDS students to date. DeepMind scholars at CDS are offered support from a DeepMind mentor, and are given opportunities to attend leading AI academic conferences and exclusive DeepMind events.

It was not only CDS’ leadership in data science research that inspired DeepMind to partner with us on the scholarship program, but our commitment and dedication to diversity. For the first time in 2019, we welcomed a majority female cohort to our MS in Data Science incoming class, and it remains a high priority that we continue to bolster our diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. We’re honored to continue our collaboration with DeepMind in empowering the next generation of AI researchers and engineers, and in building a stronger, more inclusive AI community.

All MS applicants are reviewed for potential scholarship opportunities. Thus, in order to be considered for the DeepMind scholarship, the only step applicants need to take is to simply apply to the program.
