CDS expands to new offices in Washington Square

Though the Fall semester of 2020 has been unusual in so many ways, that has not kept us at CDS from working on our plans for the post-COVID-19 future. This week we are happy to announce that we have begun our expansion into a new space in our home at 60 5th Avenue.

This new space, which sits on the second floor of our current building, consists of 17 offices, 8 conference rooms, a kitchen area, and open space seating.

In addition to providing space to our much expanded faculty, fellows, staff, postdocs and PhD students, during COVID-19, we will be opening this space to our master’s student community as a place to study or work in between classes. In line with NYU’s social distancing guidelines, study spaces will be available by reservation only and will be spaced 6 feet apart, where spaces aren’t already enclosed offices.

In the future after the pandemic, we plan to utilize the additional conference rooms to expand our capacity to collaborate on site at CDS.

Concurrent with the move of some faculty and staff, Master’s students can start using the space in the coming weeks. They should look out for communication from CDS leadership for an official start date. We are looking forward to seeing you all here again!
