As NYU students make their way back to campus after the holidays, CDS is excited for the new semester of data science to get underway! To help our community members get back into the swing of things, we’ve compiled an updated list of university resources.

Updated COVID-19 Guidance

While NYU is back to in-person learning and on-campus activities, COVID-19 is still a present concern. All students are required to be vaccinated and boosted by NYU specific deadlines, except for those with medical or religious exemptions or attending classes in a fully remote setting. For more guidance on the university’s COVID-19 policies visit the COVID-19 Information page.

Students, faculty, and employees compliant with NYU’s COVID-19 vaccination policy are still required to present their Violet Go access pass for admittance into NYU buildings and NYU-sponsored activities.

Masking is no longer mandatory on campus but is welcomed as NYU supports all community members’ individual choices. Wearing a mask can prevent the spread of infections while keeping our community safe and healthy. The only place where masking is still required is in healthcare settings like the Student Health Center. For more information on NYU’s current masking policies, please visit the Masks and PPE page.

The Student Health Center and NYU Wellness Exchange

The health and well-being of our students is a priority, and there is a range of available health-related resources available at NYU. The Student Health Center (SHC) offers medical and pharmacy services, counseling, and accessibility accommodations for students with disabilities.

The NYU Wellness Exchange provides mental health resources such as a 24-hour hotline, support through their Wellness Exchange app, and counseling services. The Exchange can be reached at wellness.exchange@nyu.edu.

CDS Student Groups

For returning students as well as those new to CDS, we encourage you to get involved with the thriving CDS community through CDS Student Groups. Become a part of student life by joining the CDS Graduate Student Community-Building Group, the CDS Diversity Affinity Group, the Data Science Club, or Women in Data Science (WiDS).

NYU Student Tech Guide

As you get set up for the new semester of learning, you might have some questions about NYU’s technological tools like NYU Brightspace, NYU Zoom, or setting up your email. The Student Tech Guide has everything you need!
